on the rocky face

on the rocky face
of obstruction, we become
invisible and

are asked to nevertheless grow –
we are beyond surface wounds

we are attempting

we are attempting
to speak with a single voice – no
group has ever built

unity underneath an
invisibility cloak

now and then, we will

the knot is too tight

the knot is too tight,
she is probably trying
to say – day after

day after day after day,
molded into man’s image

in the middle of

in the middle of
the night, i am recording
the sound of

an accusatory tone
in your voice,
taking me back
to the days when

childhood home
and not ring you up.
i was found out,
i leaned the
heaviness against you
so that i could
find a new
balance, and you
shifted so that you
could accommodate
the weight. i
wandered alongside,
instead of into,
though the sound of
the waves will always
compete with your voice

even when we are

even when we are
a long way from
home, the sound
of your
voice builds
new rooms in
which to grow

i wrap a strand of

inside your voice are
