when we fight
when we fight,
the first
thing we notice
is that we run
suddenly out
of words – the letters get
ink-tied, the meaning
punctured. when
we fight, a second
shatters into
immeasurable
shards – time gets
disconnected,
but nothing
breaks. when we
fight, it is with
the looming
spaces between
us – no sharp
objects, no
corners, nothing to
bruise us later
