while cleaning,
there are times
when i leave
the vacuum
on for two
full seconds
longer than
necessary
to drown out the
loneliness,
as if the vortical
turbulence could
take me away,
tucked into ruby
slippers, and never
stop until home
is not just a
place, but a
feeling pinned down
