packed train
pulls away
from a

crowded
subway platform,
those morning commuters
who are left behind to
wait for the
next

train
turn into
choristers, huddled
together in
sections,

arranged
by time and
gumption, over best
sound, heads down,
conductor-
less, tuned
out

and into
the digital
music of their
lives, primed for
the next set of
train doors to
open right
in front of
them
.
