after some time, all

after some time, all
kisses sort themselves into
two camps – the
no-nonsense, let’s get
it on prelude, or
the perfunctory
have a good day,
glad we are here together,
goodnight dispatch.
perhaps with enough
practice, we can find a way
back to the bewitchment
before the kiss, where
taste and pressure are
two unknown variables
that require solving,
bathed in the warmth
of breaths co-mingling
as if for the first time,
lips stumbling upon
a wondrous new pace
.
