we stirred tomorrow

we stirred tomorrow
into the well of today
and leaned over so
closely, we could taste
the shape of loss

    This works very well, and you found
    several phrases so fresh that their
    scent and impact linger for hours;
    /we stirred tomorrow/ is such a great
    lead in line! It presents you, or even
    us, as time lords, as spiritual
    entities capable of bending time,
    and embracing loss; and does so
    without being pedantic.
