in between what we

in between what we
say and do not
say, there are weighty
ellipses nearly
bursting underneath
all that
composure
,
and flourishing
commas ready to carve
into each ripened
pause. and still,
we pretend that
we have little
to do with the
delivery – we merely
bend the branches
and allow each other
to pick the fruits
.

Y, this is so lovely it hurts. Those
    final lines /we merely/bend the
    branches/and allow each other/
to pick the fruits/ is like those
    fabulous Zen Christmas cards,
    it eclipses tradition, fills my
    mind with mangos, lotus petals,
    and soft wet kisses.
