Simplicity, clarity, and truth. Too often the person receiving the gift feels self-conscious, and forgets that gratitude is all that is required, for the giver is getting an emotional rush just with the giving. One assumes, following your poetics of late, that the “he” in the piece, is the departed. Lovely message and warm sentiment.
