it’s a Justice League

it’s a Justice League
moment, sifting
through the catalogue
of adventures, ill at ease
with the way things are
shaping up. the grim
faces of the original
seven stare back
before i bound them
in a box, sharpied
Armageddon Sale,
a limited series

DC comics are fun, but Marvel was my bag. In college I went nuts for the 70’s graphic artists at Marvel, Neal Adams, Jim Steranko, and Frank Frazetta; had thousands of comics before I came to my senses and sold them to a dealer. One becomes custodian to one’s collection. Your poem evokes the transition one makes eventually to the Adult Graphics novels, then to the CGI graphics films; imagination squared.
